Why did a GIANT banner of 2,629 kids’ tree 🌳 drawings from 33 nations (kidscareaboutclimate.org) travel to a #rainforest in #srilanka? Because Sri Lanka is one of 36 global biodiversity hotspots - where more than 1500 unique plant species are found but also where more than 70% of the original plant cover has been lost. Kids 🧒👧🏾👶🏼👦🏾 deserve a safe earth 🌏 to live on and saving forests is one way to make the earth safe.

·3d ago In Western Australia, particularly in regions like the Kimberley and Pilbara, termite mounds, especially those built by the Nasutitermes triodiae (also known as "cathedral termites"), are a prominent feature of the landscape, reaching up to 8 meters in height. These mounds serve as homes for millions of termites and provide shelter for other animals. These are near Onslow.

·6d ago Sargassum can break loose and float around in ‘rafts’. Over the past 4 days, we recorded GPS positions of rafts of Sargassum and took samples and measured how deep they extended under water.
