This activity takes a minute to set up, but it covers so many educational bases! How to: 1. On some Kraft paper write out some CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words and leave the vowel blank 2. On post it notes, write vowels and have your kids hide them around the house 3. They’re then going to run around, find vowels, bring them to the Kraft paper and create words. Focus on sounding them out and talking about the sounds they hear To add more for older kids: 1. On another piece of Kraft paper, use a post it note and write out all the word families they’ll create like -AT, -IG, -OP, etc. 2. Have them look at all the words they just created and sort them into the correct families 3. They’re can write all the words belonging to those families on a running list And the best part?
